How current Advance codes work
Current three-digit Advance model codes can usually be read as technology level + OEM family + generation. The example below uses the current Sonova / Unitron branch.

Technology level
The first digit shows the relative technology tier within that family. On current lifestyle models, higher numbers generally indicate a more advanced feature set.

Manufacturer family
The middle digit points to the OEM branch. Current public Specsavers material shows 7 as the Sonova / Unitron branch. Other current branches include 6 for GN ReSound and 8 for WS Audiology.

Generation / model family
Within the Sonova / Unitron branch, the last digit identifies the generation. The current working map is 0 = Discover Next, 1 = Blu, 2 = Vivante, 3 = Smile.

GN ReSound branch
Current public Advance pages group x64 and x65 with GN ReSound-derived fitting software. In practice, x64 aligns with ReSound Nexia and x65 aligns with ReSound Vivia.

Sonova / Unitron branch
Current and recent Sonova-derived families sit in the x70s. The progression currently reads x70 Discover Next, x71 Blu, x72 Vivante and x73 Smile.

WS Audiology branch
Current WSA-derived families sit in the x80s. x80 is an earlier WSA generation, while x81 is the newer branch linked with Connexx 2.0 and the current WSA / Audio Service generation.
